Bob Tarlau (journalist)

Robert (Bob) Tarlau (born 1944), lives in Los Angeles and retired in January 2010 after 46 years as a television news writer and producer. His most recent TV news position was as a senior producer for KTTV (FOX11) a Fox television network station. He had worked previously for KABC-TV, KTLA and KNXT (now KCBS-TV) in Los Angeles.. and for the Nine Network of Australia, both in Sydney and Los Angeles. Bob continues his long-running association with Australian radio... and is a U.S. correspondent for Melbourne radio station 3AW. He is heard weekday mornings on 3AW's Breakfast Show with Ross and John.

Awards and recognition

In 2000 Bob was recognized by the "Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists" for his record of accomplishments over the course of his career in broadcast journalism. He has received numerous Los Angeles-area Emmy awards and has been honored by the Southern California Radio Television News Association and the Los Angeles Press Club.

Family

Bob is married to Barbara Tarlau. Barbara is the mother of one of his two children, David. Bob's daughter, Amanda, lives in Sydney, Australia. So do his two grandchildren, Bridget and Henry. Bob and Barbara Tarlau have a black standard poodle "Cassie," and three cats, "Sunny," "Sheba" and "Gracie." Amanda lives in Sydney, Australia, with Bob's two grandchldren, Bridget and Henry. Bob keeps a regularly updated website (www.tarlau.com) with family news and photos.
